VFD Display

VFD display is an acronym for “vacuum fluorescent display”. Such a display is a normal thing when it comes to the microwaves, alarm clocks, DVD players and the hand-held calculators. The technology used by such a display is very much similar to the one used in the standard lightbulb,
When we talk about the working of the VFD display then VFDs often consist of seven segments for displaying a number. A filament is there in each of these segments which comprises of some thin wire, generally made from tungsten and contains another metal’s coating. The air is not there in the segment as it is vacuum-sealed. Upon passing of electricity through filament, it is lighted up.

Vacuum fluorescent display which is also known as the VFD display has been used in most of the home appliances and house electronically organized equipments. This device is used for the display purposes and the basic concept of these display devices is much different from the liquid crystal display. VFD display have a much larger aspect of display and the lights being emitted from this type of display is much bright then the lights being used in the other forms of displays. Cathode and anode grids are used in these types of display devices and they are much different from the grids which are used in the liquids crystal display. Liquid technology has been improvised in the LCDs where as VFD display is primarily based on the alphanumeric characters. There are some specific segments of the displays and you would be able to find that they results being emitted from this type of display are far more bright and clear.
